About Cheffar

A cook in your kitchen for gatherings and busy weeks

Hosting at home, cooked the way we gather. And for the weeks you cannot carry the stove alone. Njangi, Dot, meal prep, or a quiet plated dinner. The meal still tastes like yours.

The quiet theft

Love given.

Presence lost.

The person who loved the gathering most spent the morning at market and the afternoon at the stove.

Guests arrived. Laughter filled the room. Plates went round — and the host barely tasted the meal, barely heard the jokes, barely appeared in the photographs.

Delivery solved dinner at the gate. Restaurants solved evenings out. Neither kept a host at their own table.

That gap is where Cheffar starts.

Our north star

Hosting at home, cooked the way we gather.

Not delivery at the gate. Not a restaurant under your roof. You host. They cook. Your house still feels like yours, and your people still feel chosen.

Our story
A cook preparing food meant for a family table

Why Cheffar exists

Agbor Franklen

Founder, Cheffar

Tech Founder / CEO, Zoraar

Agbor Franklen grew up understanding what an African table actually means. Food was never a transaction. It was how elders were honored, how friends were kept close, how a household proved — without speeches — that you belonged inside it.

Again and again he watched the same quiet theft: the host who spent the day at market and stove so everyone else could feast… then barely tasted the meal, barely heard the jokes, barely appeared in the photographs. Love given. Presence lost.

Building technology at Zoraar showed him how digital tools move goods and services across Africa. What was still missing was hospitality itself: the sacred act of inviting someone into your kitchen for Njangi nights, Dot mornings, Sunday pots, and intimate dinners that still taste like home.

Delivery apps solved the plate at the gate. Restaurant culture solved evenings out. Neither protected the feeling of opening your own door. Cheffar was founded to do that: bring a trusted cook into the house, so the host can stay with their people and still feed them the way they meant to.

That is the emotional root of the company. Not “another marketplace.” A belief that the person who loves the gathering most deserves to live inside it too.

Belonging

Food is how we say you matter here

Before speeches, before gifts, before anyone sits, the smell from the kitchen tells the story of the day. That is not “catering.” That is how family and friendship recognize each other.

Hands choosing produce in an open market

Hands

Someone still chooses every ingredient for you

The market is personal. Peppers by smell. Fish by touch. A cook who knows your occasion shops with that day in mind, so the meal tastes like care, not convenience.

Home

The kitchen is where trust lives

Inviting a cook into your house is never small. It means letting someone into the room where family is fed. That intimacy is why Cheffar treats every booking as a relationship, not a delivery order.

The hands behind the meal

Two ways of loving a table

Some days ask for quiet courses. Others ask for pots that feed a room. Both are craft. Both are care. Apply.

Executive Chef

For evenings that feel like a letter

When the meal itself is the message: anniversary light, a proposal, a private thank-you. Courses arrive like chapters. The room stays soft.

Traditional cooking that fills a family kitchen

Cordon Bleu

For rooms that feel like home

When love means volume and familiarity: trays that feed a meeting, ceremonies that feed a village of cousins, Sunday pots that feed the week ahead.

You pay once. We hold funds until the meal is done — plain words for a sacred transaction at home.
